The Committee members of Challenge South West are a professional, dedicated and hard-working bunch who put in many hours of their own time unseen to keep the club ticking over and organise events to an extremely high standard that we set ourselves.
Between them they have many years of experience in competing and organising events at many levels. As the club has grown so has the team to reflect this and all performing vital roles to keep the club running as efficiently as it does.
Below are the various Committee members and a bit about them.
Chris Pedlar - Director and Club Chairman
Chris has been competing in trials and Challenge events for some 20 years with team mate Angus Norrish. Together they have competed in many events like the Warn Challenge, Bulldog Trophy, Milemarker Challenge, Webster Trophy and Muddy Truckers, with many wins to their name. Chris was also a founder member of Challenge South West.
Frank Buddle - Director and Publicity Officer
Frank has been competing with the club for several years, been an Area Rep, Membership Secretary and is currently Publicity Officer for the club. Frank assists with much of the behind the scenes work involved in setting up and running the club events.
Rick Tarr - Director and Club Secretary
Rick as been involved in Challenge South West from the beginning as a Director and Club Secretary.
Rick is the one who spends many hours behind the scenes sorting out club finances, the club website and all the general stuff that makes the club tick over as well as it does.
Adam Cresswell - North Devon Area Representative and chief scrutineer
Adam brings a great deal of experience and a very well kitted out Discovery to the events.
Simon Parsons - South Devon Area Representative
Simon is the Chief Marshal for the De-Cider as well as being one of the South Devon Area Reps for the club. Simon has competed and marshaled in many CSW and other events and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the event.
Ian Hawes - South Devon Area Representative
Ian is the Marshals Co-ordinator on the De-Cider as well as working along Simon to co-ordinate the South Devon events. He works also on the marshals team on the De-Cider and has also built up a reputation for setting up some pretty tough and challenging sections on this event.
Chris Bolt - East Devon Area Representative
Chris has competed in Challenge events for several years now with his son Nick in their bright orange Landcruiser. They won both the AWDC Scorpion Racing Challenge 2007 & the Howlin’ Wolf 2008 in standard class. Chris is also an East Devon Area Rep for the club has kindly lent the Club the use of part of his farm for camping when required. He is also is deeply involved in (among other things) the set up of the night sections enjoyed by many on the De-Cider.
Derek and Beki Hounsell - East Devon representatives
Derek has been in the club since the start and brings a wealth of engineering experience to the club
Andrew Stone-Wright - North Devon Area Representative
Andrew runs his own mechanics business and is trained in all aspects of 4x4 vehicle repair and preparation.
Jemma Buddle - Membership Administration
Jemma, who very efficiently takes care of all the club membership.
